Let It Bleed

One of the greatest albums of all time.  The Rolling Stones did wonders with this album.  Several world famous hits came from this album. "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Gimme Shelter" are my personal favorites from the 1969 release.
The record, to me, plays an important role in where I am today with my respect for music.  Music today is so different from what it used to be. I wasn't around for the best era of music, but I know a lot about a little.  The Rolling Stones is such an iconic band that wrote about things that actually made sense.  That may be why I love this album so much.

Summer "Vacation"

School is now out so it is time to go to beach and have fun.  Since I am in a great mood, I'll talk about a song that will hopefully put you in a good mood if you are not already.
"Vacation" by the Go-Go's is such a fun Summer song to listen to.  The opening of the song may be one of the reasons why I love it so much.

There is no way I could go an entire Summer without listening to this song.  Listening to it as often as I can really keeps me in the mood for Summer.

Sammy Adams to my collection

I purchased four of Sammy Adams' mixtapes on eBay on Tuesday and I received them in the mail yesterday.  I absolutely love them!  The four CDs are OK Cool which is a pre-album to his upcoming album I Wish, Into The Wild, Party Records, and Boston's Opening Day.

The genre for the mixtapes is rap, which I know I have spoken about before but I think Sammy Adams is amazing and really cute so I have brought myself to listen to it.  While the majority of the songs are actually rap, he has a couple of remixes on the tapes.  He did a remix of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" on Boston's Opening Day and "No Speak Americano" with the original artist Yolanda Be Cool on Party RecordsParty Records has DJs DJ Whoo Kid and DJ J. Cash, Into The Wild has DJ Jayceeoh, and OK Cool has DJ Jayceeoh and Clinton Sparks.

The collection I bought contains several different producers on each of them like Deadmau5.  I would list all of the songs and producers/DJs for each song but that would be an extremely long list - 54 to be exact.  I would never make you sit through that.

We Can't Stop

I have been a fan of Miley's ever since Hannah Montana started.  When she released this song, I at first was a little disappointed, but as I kept on listening to it, it began to grow on me and now I really like it.
I have been hearing a lot of complaints about how she's "not being a good role model for her younger fans" and it is getting on my nerves.  These are the reasons why I would never want to be on Disney - you can never grow up.  She is 19-years-old so she should be able to sing about whatever she wants.  That's just my own opinion, though.
The music video for "We Can't Stop" was released today so I thought I'd give it to you.

What I've always wanted to do

Something I have always wanted to do is have VIP backstage passes to a concert.  I want to hang backstage and meet a singer or band that I absolutely love!  I have been thinking about that a lot lately and the more I think about it, the more I want it to happen.

Another thing I have always wanted to do is perform at a big event or cool venue like Six Flags, Bamboozle, or even Madison Square Garden, which I know is taking it a little too far.

At the moment, I'm really itching to meet one of my favorite singers Sammy Adams.  I talked a little bit about him last week and have ever since been dying to meet him.  I think he is beyond cool and I am obsessed with his music!

I know I may sound like I am dreaming too big, but going to a music award show like the VMAs or the GRAMMYs is a huge dream of mine.  I don't even necessarily want to be nominated for anything.  I just want to be able to walk on the red carpet, meet my favorite people, and sit with all of them while watching the award show right in front of me.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all of the fathers out there!  In honor of this day, I thought I would make today's post dedicated to my dear father.
My dad loves music as much as - if not more than - I do.  Every Saturday night (and any other night he cooks dinner instead of my mom) he has music playing over the stereo.  He puts together a playlist, usually themed, using his 10,000+ library.  He actually ran out of room on iTunes and now has other songs on a drive.  People sometimes even ask my dad to make the playlist for a party they are having because he does such a good job.  So, to honor my dad's amazing work, I put together a list of my dad's favorite artists.

  1. Thunder Road - Bruce Springsteen
  2. Telephone Line - Electric Light Orchestra
  3. Tommy (the whole album) - The Who
  4. Aqualung - Jethro Tull
  5. Already Gone - The Eagles
  6. Open Arms - Journey
  7. Peggy Sue - Buddy Holly
  8. Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper
  9. La Grange - ZZ Top
  10. Cocaine Blues - Johnny Cash

Videos Tab

Every couple of days I will be adding a video to my "Videos" tab above ^.  I guess it's just another reason for you to check my blog every day besides the fact that this blog is amazing :)

All Night Longer

WARNING:  This song is explicit!  Viewer discretion is advised.

Sammy Adams is an American rapper from Massachusetts.  He released one album 'Boston's Boy' in 2010 and plans to release another one sometime this year with singles like "L.A. Story (Feat. Mike Posner)" and "All Night Longer" which is provided below.
Like Jonathon Waterman from my post yesterday, I found out about this 25-year-old on Instagram.  I searched for his music on iTunes and immediately fell in love with this song.  Listening to it makes me want to go out and party.  The music video is very creative, too.  Animations have been added to the video which is something I don't see very often.  The song is more hip-hop/rap rather than being only rap, which may be why I like it - rap has never been at the top of my list.  Although I really like Sammy's music and do think he is someone you should at least try listening to.
If you are under 17 years of age, I recommend you do not watch/listen to this song.  It contains explicit language and talks about partying - it reminds me of a rated-R movie.

Jonathon Waterman

I saw a picture of Jonathon Waterman's under the "Explore" section on Instagram and I was curious as to who that attractive boy was. I looked at his Instagram page and saw that he was a singer.  I searched for his music on iTunes and fell in love with it!  He has two EPs available on iTunes, 'Back to Music' and 'Between.'

Back to Music

  1. My Words
  2. Edge
  3. I Would Give
  4. Thoughts In My Head
  5. I Found You
Between
  1. Fall Right Back to You
  2. Forgive But Don't Forget
  3. Alright
  4. Lost With You
  5. Get Back Up
He plays the guitar, too, and I think all of his songs are amazing!  He has an Instagram and Twitter account so I highly recommend following him as you can find out more information about him there.  I haven't found someone like him in the music industry in a long time, so it's nice to find what I've been looking for which is a great musician.

Still Into You

I was in my cousin's car when I first heard this song last week and I fell in love with it!  I've always liked Paramore, but only "liked" them.  I always listened to a song of theirs here and there but now I am completely and utterly obsessed.  This song is off their most recent album 'Paramore' and their sound has pretty much stayed the same throughout the years.  Consistency is good, right?

Jar of Hearts

There's this song by Christina Perri called "Jar of Hearts" and you may know it.  In the song she is talking to a guy and asks him why he is going around and leaving scars and tearing apart love.  She says his soul is full of ice and she keeps asking over an over again, "Who do you think you are?"
I used to really like this song - now it's just like every other song that I overplayed on my iPhone.  It's an easy song to sing, too, in case you are looking for a good song to cover.

New albums and singles

I got four new vinyls today!  Two are complete albums:  Don Henley's 'Building the Perfect Beast' and the original movie soundtrack to 'Saturday Night Fever.'  The other two are 45 RPM singles:  The Bangles' 'Manic Monday' and Mike & the Mechanics' 'The Living Years.'
I got them at The Record Store on Route 9 in Howell, NJ.  They have so many records to where it is a little overwhelming.  They have new and old ones and they're all in great condition!  If you're looking for a good place to buy LPs, that is the perfect place to go.
