Vibe On

The magic behind every song is/are the songwriter/s.  You may not know this, but "Loser Like Me" from Glee, Usher's "DJ Got Us Falling In Love," and Vanessa Hudgens's "Say OK" all have something in common - the man who helped write them.

Savan Kotecha is an very talented songwriter and music producer from Austin, Texas.  He writes for so many different labels like Syco Records, Columbia Records, RCA, and Capitol.  He has co-writtern so many hit songs like (but not limited to):
  • Justin Bieber - "Beauty and a Beat"
  • Vanessa Hudgens - "Say OK"
  • Ke$ha - "All That Matters (The Beautiful Life)"
  • Victoria Justice - "Beggin' on Your Knees"
  • Glee - "Loser Like Me"
  • Emblem3 - "Chloe (You're the One I Want)"
  • Usher - "Scream"
  • Cher Lloyd - "Want U Back"
  • One Direction - "Up All Night"
  • Britney Spears - "I Wanna Go"
  • Maroon 5 - "One More Night"
  • Dannii Minogue - "Vibe On"
  • Adam Lambert - "If I Had You"

Born To Make You Happy

Pop legend of the 1990s.  I don't remember getting ...Baby One More Time when it was released, but I know my mom went out and bought it for me because I loved Britney.

As a young girl, I of course loved "...Baby One More Time."  It wasn't until about a year ago that I really got into "Born To Make You Happy."  The portion of the song that is the collision is my favorite.  Right after the bridge, going into the final chorus, is when I get goosebumps.  That beginning of the final hoorah gets a faster, more intense, beat.  To hear what I'm talking about, skip to 3:07.

The song itself is a typical teen-pop track.  With lyrics like "I don't know how to live without your love / I was born to make you happy," you can easily figure out this is a song about an upset teenager going through a rough heartbreak.  But despite the '90s tune, I still love this song.

Love Money Party

I finally picked up a copy of Miley's Bangerz and it's...interesting.

Don't get me wrong, Miley is extremely talented and she really showed it in her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness," but I was not expecting this, even with previously hearing "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball."

"Wrecking Ball" sounds very much like Cyrus's prior songs from Breakout and Can't Be Tamed.  "We Can't Stop" I just thought was a get-it-out-of-my-system song.  "Can't Be Tamed" was seen as a scandalous song with the lyrics and music video, so it really isn't like we haven't seen this from her before.  People need to get over themselves and let her be who she wants.

"Adore You" is a really good pop tune on the record.  It's the first track and I think it was a good choice for number one.  And besides the tunes, there are several guests on the album!  Britney Spears, Nelly, Future, Big Sean, and French Montana are all included.

It's not that I don't like the album, it is just different from what I am used to listening to from her.  I am sure that once I listen to it a few times the songs will grow on me and I will be prepared for her concert in April!!  Still love and support you, Miley!
